Brother rapes, impregnates mentally ill sister

IN an incident which left villagers in Chipinge crying for justice, a 21-year-old man allegedly raped his 16-year-old mentally ill sister on several occasions for three months, impregnating her in the process.
The brother (name withheld) allegedly raped the juvenile between August and October last year.
He is still at large.
Police confirmed the rape which happened in Muheji Village in Chief Musikavanhu's area.
Police said the juvenile was left in the custody of her brother by their mother who had travelled to Kwekwe.
"He proposed love to her, but was turned down on several occasions. He allegedly raped her on several occasions from August to October last year.
"Their mother later returned and realised that the juvenile was pregnant.
"She revealed that she was raped several times by her brother. Her mother subsequently reported the matter to the police," said Manicaland police spokesman, Inspector Enock Chishiri.
He said police had launched a manhunt for the culprit and has appealed to members of the public with information leading to his arrest to contact their nearest police station.
