Girl (14) raped twice for turning down a villager's love proposal

A 14-year-old juvenile of Silverstream Estate in Chipinge was on New Year's Eve raped twice after she had turned down a villager's love proposal.
Insp Chishiri said the juvenile (name withheld) was sent to nearby shops by her father and met Washington Matimbe on her way back.
"He proposed love to her and she rejected the proposal. He dragged the juvenile into the bush and raped her once.
"She screamed for help to no avail. She told her mother about the incident who reported it to the police. Matimbe was arrested and is assisting us with investigations," he said.
