A 30-year-old Mbare woman reportedly sent a letter to her father-in-law demanding to have sex with him, a court learnt.
The woman, Merina Mberikwazvo, is alleged to have written the letter to Phillip Offman of Block 7A6 Matererini Flats in Mbare, demanding to have sex with him. However, the pair is at loggerheads prompting a court settlement at Mbare magistrates' court where Merina dragged him for a charge of criminal insult.
The State hat it that Offman told his son (Merina's husband) that she indeed wrote the letter demanding sex with him. As a result of this, he was not pleased with her conduct and reported the matter to the police. Offman was hauled before magistrate Precious Muzondo who remanded him out of custody to today for his judgment.
State counsel Lawrence Gangarahwe alleges that sometime in April 2008, Merina and her husband had an altercation where her father-in-law intervened. It is alleged that the concerned father-in-law's intervention was one-sided where he was supporting his son blasting Merina. He allegedly went on to tell Merina's husband that she once wrote a letter demanding sex.
The court heard that sometime in October last year, Merina had another misunderstanding with her husband and also repeated the same words accusing her of demanding sex from his (the husband's) father.
The State further alleges that on 1 January this year, a police report was made leading to Merina's arrest. Meanwhile Merina was warned, cautioned and discharged at the same court where she was facing a similar charge.
