Mugabe departs for AU summit

President Robert Mugabe, has left Harare for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to attend the 20th African Union summit.

The summit is expected to focus on the unrest in Mali and the DRC and African renaissance, among other issues.

The summit comes on the backdrop of France's intervention in Mali and Ecowas' efforts to re-establish its authority in the country.

The President was seen off at the Harare International Airport by Vice President Joice Mujuru, cabinet ministers, Emmerson Mnangagwa and Webster Shamu, service chiefs and other government officials.

Meanwhile, Mujuru is the Acting President.
