The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Director for Cooperation, Dr Harsh Varma says the Tourism Masterplan for Zimbabwe is at an advanced stage of development.
He said they hope to finalise the concept in the next three weeks during meetings in Harare.
Dr Varma stated that his organisation is working closely with the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry on a viable projects approach that will ensure the successful hosting of the general assembly.
He noted that they are satisfied with the country's state of preparedness ahead of the 20th session of the general assembly to be held in August.
The Tourism Masterplan is expected to provide a long-term sustainable development for the country's tourism industry, which will provide vast socio-economic benefits for women, youths and the underprivileged in the society.
