Met dept predicts wet spell to last until next Friday

The Meteorological Services Department has predicted a wet spell in various parts of the country to last until next Friday.
The department says the rains will be experienced in Matabeleland and the Midlands North provinces.
The department's senior meteorologist, Mr. Jonathan Chifuna said farmers in the concerned areas should however keep in touch with their local Agritex offices for more information pertaining to the cropping situation.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development recently alluded to the fact that erratic rains have affected the projected food situation in the country.
The 2012/2013 season has been affected by rains that came late while occurring in large quantities which destroyed a significant crop.
