A KADOMA traditional healer reported to the police a possible client who approached him to help conceal the murder of one of her two lovers. Sarudzai Mugogo, a self-confessed prostitute, had double-crossed

the two men.
The men allegedly fought resulting in the death of one. Sure Chiringa could not stomach seeing Tapera Dzowa taking Mugogo to his house from the beerhall and followed them. He then fatally stabbed Dzowa while Mugogo fled from the scene. Chiringa's trial date has been set for May 20 at the High Court.

Justice Felistus Chatukuta will preside over the matter.  Chiringa is in custody. Ms Eucheria Makaka is representing Chiringa while law officer Mr Editor Mavuto is appearing for the State.

It is alleged that on January 5 this year, Dzowa was drinking beer at Kundani beer hall in the company of his friend William Bonda. Dzowa approached Mugogo and negotiated for sexual favours and the two agreed to go to Dzowa's house.

Chiringa who had previously taken Mugogo to his house reportedly saw the pair leaving the beerhall.
It is alleged that Chiringa followed the two and stopped them. He allegedly asked Dzowa where he was taking his "girlfriend".

Mugogo allegedly fled from the scene and went back to the beerhall leaving Chiringa and Dzowa fighting. It is the State's case that Chiringa stabbed Dzowa with a knife several times all over his body leading to his death. Chiringa went back to the beerhall looking for Mugogo.

He reportedly took the woman to his house.  Dzowa's body was discovered the following day. The murder was reported to the police but the suspected murderer could not be identified.

Mugogo, the State alleges, also attended the scene and saw the deceased. She reportedly failed to tell the police what had happened the previous night. Mugogo approached a traditional healer, Byton Nyadzusvu, in a bid to cast away Dzowa's avenging spirit. She narrated to Nyadzusvu what had happened. The traditional healer advised Mugogo to return the following day for a cleansing ceremony.

When Mugogo left Nyadzusvu's homestead, the sangoma rushed to Dzowa's father and recounted what had happened. They reported the matter to the police leading to Chiringa's arrest. Mugogo and Nyadzusvu have been cited as State witnesses.
