A man believed to be the victim of a late night hit and run murder was found dead along Samora Machel Avenue in Harare this Wednesday morning.
The body of a man believed to be in his mid 30s was discovered on a patch of grass near Water World in Harare.
The deceased is believed to have been a vagrant staying at the Mukuvisi squatter camp.
A girlfriend to the deceased, Precious Tinotenda, who spoke to the news crew, said her boyfriend had gone to Mbare to sell some tins and might have been murdered on his way back.
She said she was the one who discovered the corpse and immediately informed the deceased's friends who in turn made a police report.
Andrew Mpofu, who once stayed with the deceased, said he suspected that his friend had been murdered as his body had a deep cut on the back of the head.
Police could not immediately confirm the identity of the man but colleagues say he was only known as Kadumbure and that his home area is Chiweshe.
