Zimbabwe's first Lady, Grace Mugabe is now a grandmother, the Daily News reported.

The First Lady became a grandmother after her 29-year-old son, Russell's, wife, Gladys, gave birth to a baby boy on Friday last week.

The "bundle of joy", who has been named Taponeswa, is "so gorgeous and adorable," according to friends and relatives.

Russell is Grace's son from her previous marriage to wing commander Stanley Goreraza, who is now in diplomatic service.

Russel got hitched to Gladys in December 2010 and this is their first child.

The social network was awash with congratulatory messages as family and friends welcomed the new baby.

Gladys announced the news on social media.

"Thank u (sic) God for yet another blessing! I'm now a mummy to a lovely big boy! I love u (sic)," Gladys said in a Facebook post.

Describing the new addition to the family as a "blessing", the new mother added: "Help me praise Him, when I should be down and under and feeling like the ground beneath me is shaking, He has given me so much more than I have ever asked for!

"Sometimes I think God really does say 'sorry' to us in the most amazing ways, each time I prayed a little harder, the heat got a little more intense, I thought God's answer would turn down the coals of fire beneath me, but he is so amazing all he said was hop and skip to cooler fields of green.

"My miracle, you are God's apology to a weary woman!" she wrote.

Taponeswa's new aunts and uncles also shared their happiness with the world telling how "in love" they were with the new "handsome dude."
