Five airlines have applied to start flying into Zimbabwe this year, a development that could increase traffic and revenue for the tourism sector.
The airlines are Air France, Bulgarian Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Egypt Air and Swiss Air.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe has denied that a Chinese diamond firm Anjin has submitted an application for a commercial airline in the country despite a Government Gazette last year indicating that the company had applied for the licence.
CAAZ spokesperson Annajlia Hungwe said the aviation regulator was not aware of any application by Anjin.
