Mugabe jets off to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea

President Robert Mugabe has arrived in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea for the Africa-South American (ASA) Summit which takes off this Friday.
Mugabe is accompanied by his wife Grace Mugabe.
He was seen off at the Harare International Airport by Vice President Joice Mujuru, cabinet misters; Webster Shamu, Emmerson Mnangagwa, Nicholas Goche, Sydney Sekeramayi, service chiefs and some senior government officials.
Shortly before take off, Air Zimbabwe staff said happy birthday to President Mugabe and presented him with a cake on the occasion of his 89th birthday.
African countries face problems that are similar to those in South America, but South American countries such as Brazil have managed to solve some of those challenges.
The meeting has been organised by the African Union Commission in collaboration with the government of the Equatorial Guinea.
The meeting will consider the implementation of the Africa-Aouth America Implementation Plan 2010-2015 and the proposed key priority projects including the ASA institutions [Strategic Presidential Committee and Permanent Secretariat), the financing of ASA projects, programmes and permanent secretariat.
Participants of the ASA meetings include the African Union Commission, African Union organs and representatives from South America, among others.
