Late Sam Levy honoured

THE late prominent businessman Mr Sam Levy was yesterday honoured as one of the most influential entrepreneurs in post independent Zimbabwe at a colourful ceremony in Harare. Event organiser
Empretec Zimbabwe said the event sought to motivate the business sector to mentor and encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to strive for success.
"Empretec in its thrust to recognise intergenerational entrepreneurs, has in celebration of its 20 years of existence and through a panel, selected Sam Levy as a recipient of the award of one of the most influential businesses in the nation post independence," said Empretec executive director Ms Busi Bango.
Isaac Levy, the late business mogul's eldest son, said the family felt deeply honoured by the recognition given to their father.
"We are deeply honoured that our father is being recognised and remembered for all the things he has achieved in his lifetime. We are definitely following in his footstep. We endeavour to continue to grow his legacy," he said.
This is not the first time that the businessman has been honoured posthumously. Mr Levy was in November last year given a Lifetime Achievement Award 2012 at the Victor Night Awards at an occasion attended by senior Government officials and corporate executives at Celebration Centre. The businessman died in June last year,
