MDC-T is investigating the case in which documents of aspiring MDC-T candidates seeking to contest in the party's primary elections in the Chikanga-Dangamvura Constituency were allegedly dumped along the banks of Odzi River recently as candidates employ dirty tricks to outplay one another.

Party provincial treasurer, Mr Brian James, confirmed the recent developments.

"The matter is before the higher offices within the party and an investigation has since started. We are all waiting for the completion of the probe so that we can get a clear picture of how nomination papers that were submitted by aspiring candidates in Dangamvura-Chikanga Constituency ended up failing to get to the desired destination.

"Everyone among the aspiring candidates was asked to resubmit their nomination papers and have since complied," said Mr James.

Reliable sources within the MDC-T in Manicaland recently confided in this newspaper that a member of the apostolic church discovered the papers along Odzi River about 30km north of Mutare along the Mutare-Harare Highway and called a number he got from one of the forms telling them of his find.

Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities, Mr Giles Mutsekwa, is the incumbent MP for the constituency where the documents of council and parliamentary aspirants were allegedly dumped.

Other known aspirants for the Chikanga-Dangamvura Constituency include former Mutare City councillor, Mr Boniface Gweru, prominent lawyer, Mr Arnold Tsunga and Mr Brian James.
