James Makamba wife sued over debt

Econet has sued businesswoman Irene Makamba and her retail outlet Blueridge Spar along Mutoko Road for reportedly failing to settle a more than $149 000 debt.
In its declaration, the mobile telecommunications service provider said it entered into an agreement with Blueridge Spar four years ago to supply airtime which was to be paid on a monthly basis.
It is understood that all credit given would be settled within 15 days of any monthly statement sent out by Econet and that interest would accumulate at 4% per month. The mobile service provider said it sent out a statement on November 5 2012 demanding payment to no avail.
