A Harare woman yesterday left the court in stitches when she demanded asbestos sheets from the matrimonial house she built together with her husband.
Pauline Gube said this at Harare Civil Courts where she was brought by her husband Joseph Goredema who was seeking a protection order against her.
"We built the house together after we got married customarily. I gave him US$500 when I used to go to farms and sell various wares. We built together a four-roomed cottage at the house where he does not want to see me.
"I want my US$500 or else he gives me asbestos sheets from the house. He even bought a car while we were together and it pains me since he is the one who packed my belongings.
"He packed them after saying he no longer wants to stay with my own children. His daughter also accused me of being a witch and said I was responsible for her mother's death," Gube said.
Earlier on Goredema said he no longer wanted Gube to visit the house.
"She insults me all the times she comes to my house and she took away all the property."
Magistrate Ms Vongai Muchuchuti dismissed the application saying the pair had not divorced.
