The visiting ruler of Ras al-Khaima, Sheikh Saud al-Qasimi has commended the Mugabe family for their work towards serving disadvantaged children and economic contribution to the country.
Sheikh Saud al-Qasimi and his delegation, accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi and the Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development, Dr Joseph Made toured the Gushungo Dairy estate this Wednesday.
The First Lady, Amai Grace Mugabe was at hand to welcome the delegation to the Mugabe family's estate.
The Ras al-Khaima delegation toured the newly setup milk factory, Alpha-Omega Dairy, which started operating last year.
The Gushungo Dairy head is zero grazing and is fed entirely on stock feed, 60% of which is produced on the same farm.
The herd produces almost 10 000 litres of milk per day.
Inside the milking parlour, the delegation saw how the cows are milked in hygienic conditions using state of the art equipment which was imported from South Africa.
From Gushungo dairy, the delegation's next port-of-call was the Grace Mugabe Junior School which is a stone throw away.
Sheikh Saud al-Qasimi was full of appreciation for what the First Lady is doing for the children.
Mugabe explained that the home is meant to instil a sense of belonging to children who are abandoned or those in difficult circumstances.
She said by giving them education, her objective is to ensure that they don't feel isolated and quarantined at the home.
The home has 50 children who come from disadvantaged and difficult backgrounds.
The children are occupying only four of the 30 houses that have been built for disadvantaged children under the orphanage project.
