Ncube says Zimbabweans could get themselves into the Guinness Book of Records should President Robert Mugabe win elections this year, MDC leader Welshman Ncube has said.

Ncube told party supporters that it has never happened in history for someone nearing 90 years to contest and win polls.

"When you go to vote ask yourselves as citizens of Zimbabwe if you would want to enter into the Guinness Book of Records by voting for (President) Mugabe," he said at a rally to celebrate the completion of the constitution-making process at Nyandeni, Gwanda North, over the weekend.

"It hasn't happened anywhere in the world for someone nearing 90 years to be voted in an election and become a president, so you are going to enter into Guinness Book of Records if you do that," he added.

Guinness Book, the largest in the world, is a record of outstanding human achievements that have never been attempted before.

President Mugabe who turned 89 this month has been at the helm of Zimbabwe since independence at 1980. He is Zanu-PF's presidential candidate for this year's polls whose dates would be gazetted after the constitutional referendum.
