A Valentine's Day treat for a minor girlfriend backfired for a Chipinge man after he was sentenced to 105 hours of community service for having sex with his Grade Seven girlfriend.
Cephas Khumbula (17) from Chief Garahwa's area appeared before Chipinge magistrate, Mr Vuso Gapara last week and was convicted of bedding a 13-year-old girl on Valentine's Day. He will be performing unpaid work at Garahwa Primary School.
Prosecutor Regis Mawarire said on lovers day, 14 February this year, Cephas was herding cattle near the school when he sent for the Grade Seven pupil who was attending lessons. The girl sneaked out of school to have quality time with Cephas in a nearby bush.
Cephas allegedly left the cattle unattended and went deep into the bush with his little girlfriend where they played they 'sexercised horizontal gymnastics'.
Unbeknown to the lovebirds, other pupils who were gathering fruits in the bush witnessed the act and made a report to the headmaster who alerted the girl's parents leading to Cephas' arrest.
