Boy (10) sodomised by senior pastor, set to testify in court

The 10-year-old boy, who was reportedly sodomised by George Wekwete (38), a manager with NMB Bank and a senior pastor with a leading 'upmarket' church, is set to testify in court tomorrow (Thursday).
The boy, (name withheld to protect his identity), is set to testify after a psychiatric doctor who examined him said the minor child could testify if he is stable.
"When the boy is stable, he is able to give appropriate information, but I should mention that he is a slow learner, he has attention deficit hyperactive disorder. I suggest the Victim Friendly Unit should be engaged if he is to lead evidence," revealed Dr Dickson Chibanda.
When Dr Chibanda testified, he told the court that he is said to have started to be very aggressive to other children and was making sexual advances, a psychiatric doctor who examined him has revealed. The doctor also revealed that the boy's conduct started to deteriorate gradually as he had become withdrawn, isolating himself from other kids.
Reports are that the boy who is a deaf pupil at a local school of the deaf was sodomised on four occasions after Senior Pastor George Wekwete bought him food and clothes. Pastor George who is being led by his lawyer Admire Rubaya, is arguing that the allegations are malicious adding that no proper identification at law was ever done and the boy might be trying to protect the actual perpetrator or he did not know who actually abused him.
Pastor George, who also holds a managerial post in NMB Bank, had also submitted that the boy was said to be of unsound mind and could not give reliable evidence at law.
State led by prosecutor Liberty Gono alleges that in July last year, the minor sneaked out of school premises and went to Avondale Shopping Centre where he met George. It is said that George picked him with his white vehicle and bought bread and some apples for the disabled boy. Suggestions are that they went to Pastor George's house where upon arrival the boy was forced to bath in a tub in his bathroom.
After the boy took a bath, Senior Pastor took the boy to his bedroom where he sodomised him, it is alleged. Upon quenching his alleged sexual hunger, George is said to have bought some jeans, a blue jacket, a vest and rafters for the deaf minor, before letting him go.
Later in August last year, the boy sneaked again and went to George's place of residence where he was sodomised again and the minor could not scream because of his retarded speech. It is said that after the boy was sodomised, he was given some fruits and was left to go.
On his way out, the minor picked a bunch of keys, which were recovered by one of the teachers at Hatcliffe and the young boy is said to have also been sodomised in September last year.
