A sex starved Harare man eloped with another woman and ditched his wife, a court heard.
Gideon Sadomba told the court that his wife Violet denied him sex, a development which forced him to go and stay with another woman. These details emerged in the couple's dispute where Violet applied for a protection order against Sadomba on accusations that he unleashed violence on her.
"We have been having misunderstandings and he wanted me to move out of the house. He later moved out to stay with another woman and that's where he is currently residing. When he comes back home he physically abuses me," he said.
Violet further alleged that Sadomba took some of her kitchen utensils when he 'eloped'. She said he also threatened to remove the door and electricity plugs. The ditched woman wanted the court to bar her husband from taking household property.
Sadomba admitted taking the utensils saying the pots and plates were his.
"The utensils that I took belonged to me. I inherited them after the death of my uncle. I am surprised to hear her accusing me of harassing her. We have been having problems until i decided to move out of the house. I only enjoyed marriage for one year out of all the eight years that we have been married.
"To tell the truth, I went for almost two years without having sex with her. She started sleeping on the floor before she moved into the kitchen and later moved into the dining room," he said.
Magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti who presided over the matter ruled in Voilet's favour and ordered her husband to stop removing household property from their matrimonial home. Sadomba was further ordered to stop insulting his wife.
