A 40-year-old Chipinge man is on the run after allegedly stabbing his wife with a knife following a heated domestic dispute.
Manicaland police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Luxson Chananda said the incident occurred while the couple was heading to a nearby police station for counselling.
It is understood Michael Siyana of Gaza suburb and Ms Nyaradzo Maphosa (36) separated after a dispute.
On March 9, a police officer invited the couple for marital counselling.
Maphosa, who was now living with her twin sister, in turn decided to inform her husband of the invitation in person.
While on their way to the police station, it is alleged, Siyana told Maphosa that her life was coming to an end.
An argument ensued, leading to the alleged stabbing.
Maphosa is now at Mutare General Hospital where her condition is said to be critical.
Siyana allegedly fled from the scene after the stabbing.
