The Constitution Select Committee (COPAC) finally received the green light from its management committee following the submission and approval of the thematic committees' terms of reference this Monday.

The terms of reference were set to provide guidelines for the rapportuers who are going to be analysing the uploaded data in the thematic stage.

COPAC Co-chairperson, Cde Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana said they agreed that rapportuers' 2 days training course will begin on the 25th of this month with data analysis expected to begin on the 27th and to last for 15 days.

Cde Mangwana said expectations are that the drafting of the constitution will be done and be completed by the end of May with a second all stakeholders' conference expected to be convened to ratify, commend and adopt the constitutional draft by the end of June.

A report is also supposed to be made to parliament before the executive is approached to come up with a date for the referendum by September this year.
