Our hands are tied says Anti-Corruption Commission

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) says efforts by the organisation to curb corruption are failing to yield desired results as their hands are tied.
ZACC Spokesperson, Commissioner Goodwill Shana told journalists in Harare that recent claims that the commission is corrupt are not justified and are meant to discredit the institution.
"Search warrants are granted by the High Court and the police meaning that the commission's hands are tied to those bodies. I am not saying they are corrupt but if you want to investigate some elements of the police or the courts and you are not granted the warrant, then surely your hands are tied," said Commissioner Shana.
He said the sudden revocation of search warrants the commission was issued by the High Court is an indication that something is amiss in the justice delivery system, adding that there is no will power to support the commission.
Commissioner Shana also dismissed allegations in some sections of the media that the commission's top management is abusing funds from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, saying the commissioners were appointed later, after they ceased ties with the central bank.
