Macheso partners Baker's Inn
HARARE - Baker's Inn, the country's leading baker, officially appointed sungura ace Alick Macheso as its brand ambassador on Tuesday in the capital.
David Muchingura, the Baker's Inn general manager said his company which produces more than 1,6 million loaves a day was happy to associate with Macheso who, in their opinion, is "the biggest music brand in the country".
"As a leading brand we always strive to ensure that our products are of the highest quality, standard and that our service is of world-class," Muchingura said.
"In our efforts to consolidate our position as the market leader we always endeavour to associate ourselves with the best (Macheso)," said the Baker's Inn general manager.
He said the new partnership with the sungura kingpin was a continuation of their tradition.
"You will recall our successful partnership with Highlanders Football Club and recently with the three-time Comrades Marathon winner Steven Muzhingi.
"This time ladies and gentleman we are singing a different tune, Tave Kuzora Butter. It is my pleasure to present to you our new associate and partner Mr Alick "Zora Butter" Macheso.
"Mr Macheso, like Baker's Inn, is known for quality, innovation and leadership,", he said to wild applause.
Macheso told journalists at the fun-packed event that he was pleased to be associated with Baker's Inn.
"The endorsement shows that at least other organisations are appreciating our works," said Macheso.
Macheso, who was also endorsed by Red Cross as brand ambassador recently, used the event to showcase the quality that persuaded Baker's Inn to appoint him brand ambassador.
He performed tracks such as Shedia, Kutsvaga Chiremba, Charakupa and Macharangwanda which left fans in the partially-packed Reps Theatre hall on cloud nine.
The Zora Butter chant which lured Baker's Inn is on one of Macheso's hit songs Tafadzwa off his eighth album Zvinoda Kutendwa.
The chant, the brainchild of Congolese national Jonasi Kasamba, has also been used by Dynamos players and supporters during celebrations.
