AN elderly visually impaired man from Buhera was last week found hanging from a roof truss after his wife had left him unattended.
Police confirmed the death of Takaendesa Kakuma from Gurupa Village in Chief Nyashanu's area.
Assistant Manicaland provincial police spokesman, Assistant Inspector Luxson Chananda, said Kakuma's wife, Rumbidzai Masanga (75), left him alone in a room while going to the fields.
She returned a few minutes later and realised that the door had been locked from inside. She force opened the door and found Kakuwa's lifeless body hanging from a roof truss.
"We are yet to establish how and why Kakuwa would execute such an action. Investigations are still in progress," he said.
Meanwhile, a suspected beer guzzler from Marange died shortly after consuming an illegal and toxic beer, Zed at Chidzere Bar last week.
Police said Fortune Chidawanyika (38) started complaining of stomach pains after drinking the illicit brew.
"We are investigating the case. We are yet to establish if Chidawanyika died because of Zed or malaria since he had also tested positive for malaria shortly before his death," said Asst Insp Chananda.
