A sangoma in Sigonde area in Insuza reportedly became a celebrity overnight after he allegedly 'mysteriously locked' a suspected serial thief's urinary system until he confessed.

Reports say the serial property thief Collen Matshazi's pilfering spree which had reportedly caused sleepless nights came to a halt at the behest of Sekuru Mabhunu.

The incident came hard in the wake of reports that many victims who were losing their properties no longer had 'faith' in the long arm of the law but seem to trust traditional practices as the best way to 'fix' their adversaries. It is reported that the now famous sangoma, Sekuru Mabhunu, allegedly locked Matshazi's urinary system by casting a magic spell, which saw him having swollen privates.

So dire was Matshazi's condition which reportedly shook the community after he failed to urinate for more than two weeks and was unable to fulfill his bedroom duties due to erectile dysfunction which doctors and traditional medicine men had reportedly been unable to treat.

According to sources, Matshazi courted trouble for himself when he allegedly stole property including blankets, clothes, pots and other items from an unidentified fellow villager. It is reported that the victim first confronted Matshazi and kindly asked him to return his property but the seemingly exposed Matshazi refused before he threatened him with unspecified action for suspecting him.

The angered victim later consulted Sekuru Mabhunu to 'fix' Matshazi by casting a magic spell which forced him to make a public confession.

"The panic-stricken Matshazi later went to the victim and confessed before going around the area pleading guilty saying he was the one who had stolen the victim's belongings and sold them to some gold panners in Shangani," said a villager who identified himself as Madiba.

Madiba said as payback for his evil deeds, Matshazi who reportedly visited many traditional healers and prophets but to no avail, was asked to pay five beasts or risk experiencing excruciating pains for the rest of his life.

Following the larger than life story, the traditional healer Sekuru Mabhunu is now sitting at the crest of a wave of popularity in the area with many villagers reportedly visiting him to seek protection for their properties against thieves especially cattle rustlers who are wreaking havoc in Insuza.
