Zimbabwe police have warned members of the public to be on the lookout for criminals who always take advantage of Easter holidays to commit serious crimes.
The warning comes after an Avondale couple were robbed with the woman killed and the man seriously injured and battling for his life in hospital.
Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba told ZBC News that criminals who engage in various acts of robbery and thieving usually go on a rampage as they take advantage of the relaxed atmosphere associated with the Easter holiday period.
Police reports indicate that criminals go on a prowl during Easter and some of their activities include breaking into unattended homes, robbing unsuspecting travellers using unmarked vehicles, and armed robberies.
