Domboshava adversely affected by poor roads

A poor road network in Domboshava, particularly the Mutonda area, has affected development in the constituency as it is no longer accessible.
Villagers in Mutonda say the situation is even worse during the rainy season as roads become muddy and riddled with potholes.
"If it is raining this areas is not accessible at all. The bus operators have withdrawn their buses and we have to rely on the small cars. Something has to be done. This is affecting development and as an area near Harare we thought the government would prioritise development."
The villagers say the Zimbabwe National Road Administration, ZINARA, in conjunction with the District Development Fund, should prioritise upgrading major roads as buses no longer reach some areas in Domboshava.
"This area has been neglected for long. The roads are in a state of neglect and it seems the council and ZINARA have failed to prioritise their upgrade.
"The government should embark on a deliberate programme to bring infrastructural development to traditionally marginalised such as Domboshava," they said.
Most roads in rural areas are in a deplorable state as the DDF is failing to maintain them due to financial challenges.
