Former Daily News editor Geoffrey Nyarota has filed a complaint with police alleging his rival, Makoni South MP Pishao Muchairaya threatened to kill him.
The complaint could open a can of worms for the MDC-T which intends to retain the Makoni South Constituency.
Nyarota who wants to wrestle the rural constituency from Muchauraya, told Nyazura police that a caller using a private number threatened to kill him.
But Muchauraya dismissed Nyarota's complaint as the act of a desperate man who had failed to win the hearts and minds of the constituents and was keen to seek attention through the press.
