The Meteorological Services Department has warned that the wet spell being experienced could result in severe flooding in low lying areas around the country.
Senior meteorologist, Jonathan Chifuna said rains which have been received in the past week are set to continue with Beitbridge expected to receive rainfall in excess of 51 millimetres.
Meanwhile, motorists who operate in the central business district have called on responsible authorities to work at improving drainage systems which always lead to flooding and have been causing traffic congestion every time it rains.
Last week, heavy rains pelted Harare uprooting trees in and around Harare's CBD and left behind a tail of destruction as several cars were damaged.
Analysts have warned that there is need for the civil protection unit to be on alert and take heed of the Meteorological Services Department's warnings on time to contain any arising disasters.
