ZANU-PF national political commissar  Webster Shamu has urged the Johanne Marange Apostolic sect to rally behind the leadership of President Mugabe.

Addressing the sect at Mafararikwa in Marange over the weekend,  Shamu, who is also Media, Information and Publicity Minister said the President's leadership was conferred upon him through democratic means.

He said just as their leader, Noah Taguta's leadership was spiritual, the leadership of the President, who is also Head of State and Government and Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces came from the people who overwhelmingly voted him into office.

"He who opposes that leadership, is opposed to the Government. He is opposing Zimbabwe. He is also opposing Africa and the whole world," said  Shamu.

He urged members of the apostolic sect to vote for Zanu-PF, a revolutionary party with history. On indigenisation and economic empowerment,  Shamu urged members of the apostolic sect to participate in Government programmes. He said the indigenisation process was a Government programme that should benefit everyone.

The Minister was accompanied by Local Government, Rural and Urban Development Minister,  Ignatious Chombo, Manicaland Governor and Resident Minister Chris Mushohwe.
