A SUSPECTED armed robber appeared in court last week charged with robbing a barman at Chipere Hideout along the Gweru-Kwekwe Road of a six-pack case of clear beer last month after failing to locate the cash box.
Peter Hasha (22) was remanded in custody when he appeared at the Kwekwe Magistrates' court last Thursday facing two counts of armed robbery.
It is the State case that on February 19, Hasha, with a co-accused who is still at large, went to Sakunda Service Station in Kwekwe with an empty fuel container pretending to have run out of fuel in Amaveni.
The State alleges that when the fuel attendant was about to serve them, Hasha produced a pistol and demanded cash.
The two allegedly managed to get $118 from the garage before they fled.
The next day they allegedly stormed Chipere Hideout and demanded cash from the bar attendant, but could not get any.
In a fit of rage, the suspects allegedly helped themselves to a six-pack case of beer and made off.
Hasha was later arrested following a tip off.
He will be back in court on April 24 for routine remand.
