Sunday Times ends Zimbabwe operations

THE Sunday Times newspaper has given notice that it would not be producing its Southern African region edition within a fortnight.
In an internal communication, the publication said their last publication would be on April 21.
The statement cited financial challenges as reasons for the decision.
"It is with deep regret that I must inform you that our operations come to an end with the April 21, 2013 edition," the statement read, adding that the paper would, however, continue to be distributed in Zimbabwe.
"Sunday Times will still be distributed in Zimbabwe and Zambia, but it will no longer be an edition dedicated to the region, it will instead be an edition that is distributed within South Africa too."
The paper, however, urged its regional correspondents to continue filing topical news for consideration in the South Africa edition.
