Man dies in a bicycle accident

In a rare case that has elicited both shock and sympathy across the Mutasa area of Manicaland, a 22-year-old man in the district died from internal injuries he sustained after falling off a bicycle.
Mr Willard Musakarura of Nyamundanda Village under Chief Mandeya's realm met his fate on April 8.
There were no visible injuries on his body when "Good Samaritans" rushed him to a nearby clinic.
Manicaland police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Luxon Chananda confirmed the incident.
Police records show that Mr Musakarura was cycling on the day in question.
He, however, fell under circumstances that are yet to be established.
He could not walk and helpers who rushed to the scene had to push him to St Peter's Clinic in a wheelbarrow.
Health personnel who attended him said he had suffered intestinal obstruction due to trauma, which ordinarily means concealed haemorrhage that leads to internal bleeding.
Mr Musakarura was subsequently transferred to Mutare General Hospital, where he died.
According to medical website ClinicalKey, trauma-related intestinal disorders can occur after car crashes, falls, bicycle crashes or violence.
