Zanu PF dismisses MDC-T's indigenisation proposal

Zanu PF says there is no alternative to indigenisation and economic empowerment as proposed by the MDC-T.
The comments come amid reports that MDC-T has been claiming in the media that there are three options in response to the indigenisation and economic empowerment programme.
Zanu PF Director of Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment, Kurai Masenyama tolds the state media that the comments by MDC-T are a futile attempt to seek relevance, adding that the proposed options will never work as the current process has already been implemented.
"The statements by the MDC-T are futile as they seek relevance ahead of elections. Their proposals of having outright opposition cannot work as it is now a law while the other option of ignoring it is impossible as citizens are reaping the benefits. The last option of engaging Zanu PF is just a statement as the revolutionary party has no time to engage with western sponsored parties with a foreign agenda," said Masenyama.
The MDC-T has been on record disputing the implementation of the indigenisation and economic empowerment programme, which has seen thousands of Zimbabweans benefitting as schools and road infrastructure are being constructed from the community share ownership schemes.
Workers have also acquired shareholding in major mining firms through the implementation of the indigenisation policy.
