A Harare woman on Tuesday revealed that her husband is in the habit of taking their three-year-old child to a bar from where he returns with the minor late.

Rudo Bogus made the claims yesterday at Harare Civil Court where she was eeking a protection order against her husband Victor Tsaramba.

"He comes to harass me at my workplace where he scales over the gate. At one time, he promised that he would get me fired. He is very violent and has many girlfriends.

"He told me he would kill me in the next two months. He takes our three-year-old son to the bar and returns at around 8pm.
"This is bad for the child.

"When I ask him why he does that, he becomes violent. I want him banned from visiting me because he might get me fired because of his conduct," Bogus said.

In his defence Tsaramba said he was married to Bogus and denied assaulting her.

"We have been together for the past 13 years and I have no reason to behave like that. I am a driver at Bakers Inn and sometimes I pick her up from where she is studying and take her home.

"She unlocks the door for me and also have spare keys to the house which I use to gain entry. I go around with the child because he loves to be in my company more than her.

"Recently she got me arrested and I had to sign my summons while in police cells," he said.

Magistrate Ms Vongai Muchuchuti said she would not bar Tsaramba from their matrimonial residence since they have a child together.

"They did not divorce according to customary law and she has to give him a divorce token in the presence of relatives.

"However, the respondent is ordered to stop physically abusing or threatening her in any manner," she said.
