IN an incident that has shocked Zvimba villagers in Mashonaland West, a 32-year-old woman was found dead in a family garden, raising suspicion of foul play.

Mashonaland West police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara yesterday confirmed the incident that occurred at Jonhera village under Chief Zvimba, Kutama, at the weekend.

Police identified the deceased as Emma Murwira.

It is reported that on April 20 at around 1300hours, the now-deceased's nine-year-old daughter Faith went to the family garden in search of her mother. Upon arrival, she discovered her mother's lifeless body and dashed to the village where she informed her grandmother Esnath Masango.

Masango went to the scene and found that Murwira was already dead. A report was made to Kutama police who attended the scene and conveyed the body to Father O'Hea Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

Police said they suspected foul play and investigations were in progress.
