Three MDC-T councillors have defected to the Professor Welshman Ncube led MDC in Gutu, Masvingo province.

Howeve, the MDC-T claims it fired the councillors on corruption related charges.

The councillors are Gutu Rural District chairperson Mr Daniel Jinga (ward 38), Fabian Mamombe (ward 41), Mr Emmanuel Toperesu and Mr Raymond Chinhenga.

Clrs Jinga, Mamombe and Toperesu are now MDC aspiring legislators for Gutu Central, Gutu West and Gutu North, respectively.

Clr Jinga confirmed the development in an interview with The Herald saying they joined MDC after realising that the MDC-T was a party of false hope. He dismissed reports he was dismissed from the MDC-T saying he left the party in November last year to join the MDC.

"Tsvangirai does not have people at heart. He is selfish. The MDC-T is not organised at all. It is a group of social mischief and is loaded with people who are power hungry. There are more dictators in the MDC-T than in any party in this country," he said.

Clr Jinga claimed people were flocking from the MDC-T to the Prof Ncube led party and predicted a heavy thumping of the MDC-T in the forthcoming elections.
