A Hopley Farm man yesterday stunned the court after testifying that his wife jilted him for a neighbour because his manhood was too small.

Pepukai Kuzuwamunhu approached the Civil Court seeking a protection order in which she wanted her ex-husband Godfrey Sumburero barred from visiting her new home, claiming they have fallen out of love.

Sumburero told the court Kuzuwamunhu openly told him his manhood was smaller than that of a neighbouring friend only identified as Chitungo.

"I was shocked when she boldly told me that Chitungo's manhood is bigger than mine. When I asked her how come she knows that, she said she saw him urinating. It did not take three weeks before she deserted me for that man," said an incensed Sumburero.

However, Sumburero told the court he still wants to stay with his estranged wife regardless of the whole episode.

"I love my wife. Though we would disagree over some minor issues, I am still confident we can harmoniously resolve all those matters," he added.

In response, Kuzuwamunhu dismissed Sumburero's reconciliation plea, stating she cannot stand his habit of publicly harassing her.

"He is an inconsiderate man who uses the same kitchen as a toilet. With him my life was at stake and he sometimes attempted to stab me with a knife. I only escaped through the window. He dug a grave in his house which he used to threaten me saying very soon he will bury me there."

She also indicated that Sumburero was economically, emotionally and verbally abusing her.

Sumburero admitted he dug a pit inside the house but said he did it to trace an anthill.

Magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti granted Kuzuwamunhu a protection order, advising the two to observe peace.
