THE body of a 17-year-old girl from Binga district was found floating at Tyba Dam where she had gone for fishing, police said.
The girl identified as Linet Miyozi, an epileptic patient, is suspected to have developed a seizure and fell into the dam.
Confirming the incident yesterday, Matabeleland North police spokesperson Inspector Billie Dube said the incident happened at Tyba village under Chief Siamupha last week.
Linet was seen by an 11-year-old boy but when the boy was returning home he did not see her on the spot she had been fishing and thought she had left.
The boy passed by Linet's home and spoke to her father who said she had left home long back and had not returned.
The boy notified Linet's father that he had seen her fishing but was no longer at the dam. Her father went to check for Linet at about 5pm and found her body floating in the dam.
