Member of Parliament arrested for trying to sleep with teenage maid

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of the MDC-T's Zaka Constituency House of Assembly member, Harrison Mudzuri in connection with an indecent assault case which happened on Thursday last week in Seke, Chitungwiza.

Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed the allegations that Mudzuri proposed and allegedly later tried to forcefully have sex with the house maid of his brother Chamunorwa, whose home he had visited while Chamunorwa and his wife were away.

The house maid (17) is alleged to have resisted Mudzuri's moves and ran outside the house and later reported the incident to Chamunorwa's wife and then to her mother, leading to Mudzuri's arrest.

Mudzuri is in police custody and is expected to appear in court soon.
