THREE siblings, Tichaona (33), and his sisters, Muchaneta (35) and Belinda Chigova (28) from Mushavi Village in Masvingo were on Tuesday each fined $100 (or 30 days in prison) for severely assaulting their widowed father's alleged small house' after they found them naked in a kitchen hut.

The siblings were convicted on their own pleas of guilty when they appeared before Masvingo Magistrate Ms Dorothy Mwanyisa.

It was the State case as represented by Ms Mukai Mutumhe that on an unknown date but sometime last month at around 9pm, the three visited their father who had already retired to bed with Ms Berita Murindi (34) of the same village.

The trio stormed into the kitchen where the two love birds' were sleeping and found them both naked.

The court heard that when Ms Murindi saw the trio, she attempted to escape but later realised she was naked and just stood motionless.

Tichaona produced a switch which he used to assault the nude woman .and his siblings also joined in.

They assaulted her all over the body using the switch, hands and booted feet.

Ms Murindi sustained injuries on the back and face.

The siblings who were accusing the woman of being a witch and wanting to infect their father with Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) only stopped assaulting the woman after realising that she was bleeding and when their father intervened.

After the assault, Ms Murindi made a police report leading to the trio's arrest the following morning.
