Prisons guards at Bindura Prison are allegedly denying visitors, access to Solomon Madzore, the MDC-T Youth Assembly leader who is in remand prison there.
Madzore was arrested last week in Harare where he was later transferred to Bindura and was charged with insulting Zanu-PF's Robert Mugabe at a rally in Mbire last month.
He was granted a US$100 but was remanded in custody after the State prosecutor Munyaradzi Mataranyika vetoed the granting of bail meaning Madzore will spend another seven days in prison.
The MDC-T is alleging that one of the senior officers at the Bindura Prison, only identified as Chivaraidze is denying visitors access to Madzore since Tuesday.
Meanwhile, The MDC-T is also alleging that police on Monday confiscated two vehicles belonging to its who had gone to the Bindura Magistrates' Court to show their solidarity with Madzore who was appearing in court that day.
The vehicles are being held at the Bindura Vehicle Inspection Department (VID). No reasons were given on why the vehicles had been confiscated.
The MDC-T said it views the abuse of office by the police and the Attorney General's Office as a clear indication that they are working on the instructions of some dark forces in Zanu-PF who are scared of a defeat at the hands of the MDC in the next elections to be held this year.
