MDC to approach Sadc over Moyo's partisan manner

THE Welshman Ncube-led MDC says it will approach the Sadc Parliamentary Forum to force the Speaker of the House of Assembly Lovemore Moyo to act on five legislators whom it expelled from its party.
MDC secretary-general Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga accuses Moyo of dragging his feet in ejecting the MPs, whom the party accuses of floor-crossing, charging that he was acting in a partisan manner.
Despite MDC protestations, three of the five legislators - Umzingwane legislator Nomalanga Khumalo, Gwanda North MP Zinti Mnkandla and Tsholotsho South MP Maxwell Dube - were in Parliament in the past few days debating the new constitution.
Yesterday, Moyo said he had not wrapped up consultations as he was waiting for feedback.
But Misihairabwi-Mushonga hit back, accusing Moyo of dishonesty, warning that MDC-T would one day pay for the Speaker's failure to act.
Misihairabwi-Mushonga said next time the MDC-T raised the issue of the lack of the rule of law, her party would not entertain them.
The MDC secretary-general said they would now take the matter up with the Sadc Parliamentary Forum.
