Chinese businesspeople should adhere to Zimbabwe's business ethics and offer competitive prices to miners, a minister has said.
Deputy Mines minister Gift Chimanikire said it was disheartening that the Chinese bought chrome from small-scale miners at shockingly low prices.
Speaking at a Mines and Minerals Policy draft stakeholders' workshop in Gweru on Wednesday, the deputy minister advised small-scale miners not to sell the mineral for less than internationally quoted prices.
Despite concerns about their business practices, Chimanikire said a Chinese company had approached the government and was in the process of constructing a chrome smelter plant between Chegutu and Harare.
