Chimanimani West MP Lynette Karenyi was yesterday sentenced to 4 months in prison for holding an unsanctioned meeting last year.
Karenyi, who is also the MDC-T organising secretary in the women's league, was, however, spared jail after she was given the option to pay a $200 fine for contravening section 25 (5) of the Public Order and Security Act chapter 11.17.
She was also slapped with a three-month jail term, which was suspended on condition she does not commit a similar offence in the next five years.
