The MDC-T organising secretary for Manicaland province, Musikavanhu MP Prosper Mutseyami, who was detained last week over public violence charges, had his freedom cut short on Tuesday after the State rejected his $100 bail shortly after Chipinge magistrate Vusimuzi Gapara had assented to it, the NewsDay reports.
Mutseyami, who is also MDC-T organising secretary for Manicaland province, was arrested last week Friday following an outbreak of intra-party violence at a meeting he had addressed. He was charged with public violence alongside six other party activists.
His co-accused are Hagins Kashiri, Innocent Mandava, Tichaenzana Maita, Howard Makokosha, Allan Mukodzani and Patience Matiya.
They were remanded in custody to May 21.
