Accident kills four on the spot

Four people died on the spot when a small vehicle collided head-on with a ZESA Hwange staff bus at the 112 km peg in Chegutu along the Harare-Bulawayo highway.
Eye witnesses said the driver of the vehicle was violently thrown out of the vehicle on impact and died on the spot while three other occupants were trapped in the wreckage and were burnt to death.
Police spokesperson, Inspector Clemence Mabweazara said the collision occurred when the driver of the small vehicle tried to overtake another vehicle ahead of the oncoming bus.
Inspector Mabweazara said the bus was travelling towards Harare and was carrying 21 netball team players.
He said all the passengers in the bus escaped unhurt.
