The Movement for Democratic Change led by Morgan Tsvangirai will this Saturday embark on the confirmation of sitting Members of Parliament as well as conducting primary elections in all constituencies without a sitting MP.

Once a candidate who is currently an MP has been confirmed, no primary election will be held while in the event a sitting MP has not been confirmed, the party will give candidates two weeks to campaign before a new date is announced for the primary election.
Only MDC-T members who are part of the Electoral College will be eligible to participate in the primaries.
In the case of confirming a sitting MP, all district and ward executive members of the main wing, Women's and Youth assemblies while the branch will be represented by the chairperson, secretary, treasurer and organising secretary of the main wing to make the full complement of the Electoral College.
However, all the structures from district to branch level will be eligible to elect the candidates in the primary elections.
The MDC-T says it is now geared for the elections that will be held this year and these primary elections reflect the MDC-T's election preparedness.
