POLICE officer stationed at Nyanga on Tuesday appeared before a Rusape magistrate to answer embarrassing charges of peeping and attempting to take photographs of a naked female police officer in the bathroom.
Wellington Chitenga (40) of CID Nyanga who holds a rank of assistant inspector pleaded not guilty to peeping at the naked Assistant Inspector Moreblessing Gaze (28) who is also attached at CID Nyanga.
Prosecuting, Mr Tafara Chawatama told the court that Chitenga who stays at the same flat with Gaze allegedly took advantage of a hole on the floor that separates his house with Asst Insp Gaze's to peep at her whenever she was bathing.
"On December 30, 2012 at 6.30am, the complainant was taking a bath in her tub on the floor directly below the accused person's house. She saw the accused peeping through a hole on the floor that separates the accused house from hers.
"She went out of the bathroom and informed her husband and they decided to trap Chitenga," he said.
Mr Chawatama further told the court that the following morning Asst Insp Gaze together with her husband went into the bathroom.
"The husband was standing against the walls and Gaze who was naked in the tub saw Chitenga's eyes glued on her naked body. She beckoned her husband to come and see what was happening.
The husband saw Chitenga peeing through the hole. Chitenga was not aware that the complainant's husband was seeing him.
Magistrate Shingi Mutiro postponed the matter to My 31.
